I adore everything about these dolls ... they are cute, well made, soft, and full of so much to teach us about various cultures. In a world that projects so much to be fearful of, these dolls remind us that all people have commonalities, but also so much to learn about each other from their differences. For OneSky for all children, where we focus on ensuring that all vulnerable children in Asia are given the chance to reach their potential, the Ming Li doll in particular is a reminder of our roots, where we started working with young, orphaned children, mostly girls. Ming Li and her fellow dolls remind us all that children see and accept our differences and embrace them early, especially if we give them a chance to do so through something as natural as play.

When I saw these dolls, I had to buy all of them! The cuddly quality and feel of the dolls is irresistible! My grandchildren love them all, and my personal favorite is Ming Li from China. Her story and my conversations with the children teach us all that, while we might think we’re very different, these children have many of the same experiences that we do! I think it’s important to learn a little about China and the other countries represented by these dolls because we live in such an ethnically rich and diverse world. The dolls really help to begin the introduction to other cultures from around the world.

These dolls are phenomenal, not only are their high quality but they really speak to children. My kids say they are their friends, and constantly refer back to the dolls when they recognize something cultural in real life.
They are always excited to learn more about them, and they teach them to embrace all cultures, no matter how different.
